Laparoscopy Endometriosis

Endometriosis is the condition in which tissues that grow inside the uterus start growing outside instead. Laparoscopic endometriosis is surgical procedure to treat endometriosis. Laparoscopy surgery known as keyhole surgery is minimally invasive surgery and don’t require large cuts. This surgery is safe, is less painful, helps in speedy recovery and you can get back to your normal routine in 7 to 10 days.

This surgery is beneficial in case you have endometriosis, suffering from chronic or severe pelvic pain, facing problem in conceiving, and medication are not effective.

Majorly there are two different types of surgeries related to endometriosis:


  • Laparoscopy, generally known as keyhole surgery and is the easiest way to get rid of endometriosis. In this more than one incision are made in the abdomen. Through one cut near the naval small camera is inserted to have clear inner view of the abdomen, then from another cut instruments are inserted and endometriosis is treated.
  • Laparotomy, this is traditional method also known as open surgery where abdomen is cut open and surgery is done. This methos is not preferred these days and done only when problem cannot be controlled by laparoscopy.
